This article is entitled" Chemotherapy Medication Error Prevention in the Oncology Setting"

"The staff member should discuss the planned chemotherapy (including doses) whenever possible with patients so that the patient and/or caregiver, can contribute to error prevention. Many patients are aware not only of the starting dose of their chemotherapy regimen but of dose modifications as well."

This situation arises because, as the article states, names of drugs are similar, there may be a lack of correct or appropriate information about a specific patient (THAT'S YOU, REMEMBER-height, weight, blood counts, estimates of renal or hepatic function), or lack of informatoin about the drug regimen, illegible handwriting, etc.

In New York State, it is estimated that about 1000 deaths annually can be attributed to medication errors. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

There are many studies of vitamins and conventional therapy. Indications are strong that vitamin therapy supports the healthy cells of the body during treatment. There are rumors, and that is all they are that certain vitamins do not work with certain chemotherapies. It is often said to avoid folate with methotrexate. This is not true, if anything, it is folinic acid a different product.

Building the immune system is the primary method that most of us who choose alternative/complementary therapies have in mind. Those on chemo have to keep their white blood counts high and support the normal cells of the body. For this purpose, jucing is highly recommended.
