Safety and objections

From The Dental Health Times Newsletter, Spring 1995; an article from NewLife Magazine January/February 1996; and a 1997 release from Foundation for Advancement in Cancer Therapy, Ltd. (212)665-1757:

Fluoride has increasingly been indicated as a cause of fluorosis(staining and pitting of the teeth), bone fractures and dental caries (cavities). The Amreican Journal of Public Health discussed fluoride as a cause of tooth decay in 1985.

In 1991, a study from the University of Arizona noted that poor children in Tucson had 11 times the odds of developing fluorosis (this in an area that had higher flouride).

A November 1994 study links flouride to bone fractures-people given fluoride tablets developed bones that were more susceptible to fractures. Various studies have shown a link in bone cancer in young males to flouride. Osteosarcoma.

Hip fractures in post-menopausal women who were reared in or live in artificially fluoridated areas may have been influenced.

Fluoride ingestion is associated with kidney disorders and renal dysfunction.
