Information on Breast and Cervical Cancers,

Including Screening.

Funding from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has allowed the Cancer Institute of New Jersey to set up an outreach program designed to expand lesbian access to education, screening and treatment of breast cancer. If you would like to have a presentation given to a community group, or have a group of 30 or more lesbians over the age of 40 who are interested in getting free mammograms, or would simply like more information about this program, contact Ellen Levine at (732)235-6781 or levineel@umdnj.edu

Ann's NOTE: I am not sure that mammograms are all that useful at age 40. If you decide to get one, ask the technician or doctor if your film is readable or if you have dense breasts. This can make it more difficult to actually spot anything and tends to make the process much less worthwhile.

Remember we are NOT Doctors and have NO medical training.
