Gene Mutations in Breast Cancer Patients May Help Determine Treatment
Female breast cancer patients who possess a mutation in their ATM gene may be more likely to suffer breast tissue side effects from adjuvant radiation therapy than patients who do not have such a mutation, according to a new study published in the March 2002 issue of the International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology and Physics.
